The Unabridged and Complete Autobiography of Marni Walker

You ever had your parents bring out an old file and say hey! I kept this from when you were little! - ? This entire book is because this happened to me. The document in question was in the form of an A4 document stapled together with love and pencil. The cover had a particularly mangy dolphin scribbled on it, and words boldly proclaimed ‘MY LIFE, the complete autobiography of Marni Walker’.
I had written it when I was 9.

I couldn’t really bear to look at it, originally. The cringe was real. But seeing how much this book made my mum and husband laugh, I eventually decided to embrace it and illustrate it.
Now, I love it. It stands as a monument to the creativity of 9 year olds, and their frank and terrible musings on life. All illustrations are based off ones that were in the original, and in time I’ll include a photocopied version of the original on this page.
